Press Releases

  1. Media
  2. Press Releases

A press release is a written communication that highlights precise but succinct information about an event, situation or other functions. It is usually connected to a business or organization and delivered to media through various means. Through the press releases, Aahwahan Foundation would let the media know about its services to ensure it reaches a maximum audience. By connecting the press release to an existing event, we would be able to grab the attention of various stakeholders.

Aahwahan Foundation arranges a Flight for 160 Migrant workers stuck in Mumbai

Aahwahan Foundation Team, Braja Kishore Pradhan, Nitesh Kumar, Poonam Mahajan (Apexx Media ), Bhuvnesh Soni, Manasi Jena, Amrita Rai and Priya, the Alumni from the National Law School are working towards bringing a revolution with joint efforts for serving society at large.

Refugees are people who have been displaced from their homes by conflict and persecution without access to fundamental rights such as quality healthcare, employment, and freedom of movement. After the Covid-19 lockdown, millions of migrants virtually became refugees in this country. The anxiety of infectious disease, confinement and isolation, social stigma, discrimination, unemployment, and uncertainty about their future also harmed their mental well being.

This grave humanitarian crisis and the accompanying financial & logistical challenges required multi-agency collaboration and scaled-up response. Aahwahan Foundation swung into action and communicated with socially-conscious groups. The response from an individual at IIT Mumbai and the alumni from the National Law School was swift and decisive.

An action plan was created – establishing a database of the migrants, determining the financial & logistics requirements, coordinating with government agencies for permits, etc. A cohesive team was formed to implement the action plan.

On 31st 2020, a batch of migrants, totaling 160 flew from Mumbai to Ranchi. For the outside world, it was just another flight taking off; for the migrants, it was a flight to freedom. The memory of this journey would stay with them for the rest of their lives.

Meet Braja Kishore Pradhan, the man techie social entrepreneur bringing the change in rural India

For future generations to remember us with gratitude instead of sorrow, society must learn to achieve more than just the miracles of technology. We must leave behind a natural environment and a social structure that fosters inclusive growth. With this thought process, Braja Kishore Pradhan forayed into a career in technology, successfully scaling up to leadership positions with prominent companies in the IT capital of India - Bangalore.

Social Entrepreneur

Social entrepreneurs are the cornerstone of change in society; they deliver services that would not be possible for government and businesses, always striving for equality and being the champion of social justice. Braja Kishore was still bothered by one question - What is my social responsibility? How am I applying technology to shape our social and economic interactions? This turbulence in his mind led to the launch of the Aahwahan Foundation.

Social Distancing

Urban India has been practicing social distancing much before COVID-19. The rapacious nature of contemporary economic growth has not penetrated rural India. For decades rural India has been socially and economically kept at a distance. Nearly 70% of India's population lives in rural areas; lifting them out of poverty would significantly transform India economically. Aahwahan Foundation's focus has always been on rural growth.
