The recent floods near the Disang River in Assam have left thousands of families struggling for survival. Continuous heavy rainfall and rising river levels have caused embankment breaches, inundating villages, destroying homes, damaging crops, and disrupting the lives of countless people. Several communities have been forced to leave their homes and seek shelter in relief camps as the floodwaters continue to rise.
The flood situation across Assam remains critical, with lakhs of people affected and rescue operations continuing in several districts. Government agencies, disaster response teams, and volunteers are working tirelessly to reach stranded families, while many villages still require urgent humanitarian assistance.
Aahwahan Foundation's Emergency Relief Initiative
In response to this humanitarian crisis, Aahwahan Foundation has launched an Emergency Flood Relief Camp in Assam to provide immediate support to flood-affected families living near the Disang River.
Our dedicated volunteers are working on the ground to distribute essential relief materials, including:
